The first thing to know about Blinds & Designs is that we are a family business, and the people who help you pick a shade are the same people who answer the phone when it needs a look a year later. We are a Hunter Douglas Gallery dealer with our main showroom in North Dartmouth, two more in Franklin and Sagamore, and a shop-at-home service run from Canton. Our job is simple to describe: help you choose the right window treatments for each room, measure them properly, and install them well.

Rooted in the houses around North Dartmouth
Our main showroom sits on Faunce Corner Road, and the houses nearby taught us most of what we know about windows. Padanaram has older colonials and shingled capes with narrow trim and small panes. Off Faunce Corner and Slocum Road you find ranches from the sixties and seventies with broad picture windows and sliders. Toward Russells Mills, old farmhouses still have deep-set nineteenth-century sash, and in South Dartmouth the rooms facing Apponagansett Bay take a hard afternoon glare off the water.
Each of those calls for something different, and learning to read a house before suggesting a product is a habit we carry to every town we work in.
What we do

Hunter Douglas, start to finish
As a Gallery dealer we offer the full range of Hunter Douglas shades, blinds, shutters and drapery, plus commercial blinds and shades and motorized window coverings.

Help at your home
Our vans carry samples and options, so we can bring the showroom to you. Estimates are free, and interior design consultations are there when you want help with the whole room.

Installed and looked after
Certified Hunter Douglas installation, and repairs on blinds and shades you already own.
How we like to work
What people tend to notice about Blinds & Designs is that nobody rushes them. A good window treatment is a decision you live with for a long time, so we would rather spend a little longer showing you two fabrics side by side than have you guess.
When you visit us or we visit you, the conversation starts with the room, not the catalogue. Which way do the windows face? Is it a bedroom that needs to go dark, or a family room where you want the light but not the glare on the television? Do children or pets share the space, so cordless lift matters? Those answers shrink a very large range down to a handful of sensible choices.
From there we measure every window ourselves and give you a written estimate, free of charge. When you are ready to go ahead, our certified installers fit everything and check that each shade, blind or shutter runs the way it should before they leave.

Four locations, one way of doing things
One more thing worth knowing about Blinds & Designs: whichever location is closest, the service is the same. The North Dartmouth showroom covers the South Coast and the Rhode Island line. The Franklin showroom looks after the towns to its west and south. The Sagamore showroom sits by the Cape Cod Canal for the Cape and the South Shore. And our Canton shop-at-home service brings the samples to houses across the towns south and west of Boston. You will find all four on our store locations page.
